    What is the minimum age for volunteering?

    Anyone above the age of 18 can volunteer. Children over the age 14 can volunteer provided we have parental consent.

    What will I gain by volunteering at Rahma (Mercy)?

    Every individual will gain a different volunteering experience. A few of the more common benefits are:

    • Making a positive impact on the lives of the people in the Balkans.
    • Developing essential skills such as communication, team working, motivation, adaptability, etc.
    • Meeting people from a range of backgrounds and making new friends.
    • Getting to know your local community better
    • Making a positive change in your community
    • Improving you self-esteem, confidence and well being

    Will my expenses be reimbursed?

    Volunteers in the UK will be provided with food at no costs. Any other expenses will not be reimbursed.

    How much time do I need to give volunteering?

    There is no limit to the amount of time you give volunteering.

    Can I volunteer if I have a criminal record?

    Having a criminal record, in itself, is not a barrier to volunteering. Every volunteer will go through a screening process where we will be determine your suitability to volunteer. Anyone with a sexual offence against a child or adult will be unsuitable to volunteer for us.

    Do I need any qualifications to volunteer?

    No. For the majority of our projects, no qualifications or experience is required.

    Can I volunteer outside of the UK?

    I already volunteer with other charities, can I still volunteer for Rahma (Mercy)?

    Rahma (Mercy) has no restrictions on how many charities you can volunteer for.

    I have a specific skill set and experience, can I use them with Rahma (Mercy)?
